Our Valuation & Authentication Services

Most formal valuations generally represent less than 2% of total collection value. That is the cost of protecting everything you own.

Market Opinion VS. Professional Valuation

Choosing the correct report type depends on your specific legal, financial, and institutional requirements:

  • Market Opinion: A streamlined, market-focused estimate designed for personal collection tracking, pre-sale strategy, or informal buying decisions. It provides rapid clarity on current market trends without the formal documentation required for third-party compliance.
  • Formal Valuation: A formal, certified asset appraisal built to satisfy the rigid compliance guidelines of the Auctioneers & Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA). Backed by our $10M Lloyd's professional indemnity policy, this report creates an unassailable legal paper trail required for insurance underwriting, ATO SMSF audits, estate probate, and court property settlements.

Transparent, Audit-Defensible Pricing

Every TCG Valuations report is built on a strict, evidence-first framework aligned to AVAA national standards. We apply institutional asset-appraisal standards across the entire collectibles spectrum from vintage memorabilia and high-end statues to retro media and trading cards. Our fees are strictly based on time, research complexity, and compliance requirements, never as a percentage of your collection's value.

Terms & Additional fees

Fees are based on time and complexity. They are not contingent on the value reported, on the outcome of any claim or dispute, or on any subsequent transaction. TCG Valuations does not accept engagements on a percentage-of-value basis.

Additional fees may be incurred based on additional labour related to valuation such as court appearances.

Valuation Estimates and Market Opinions are prepared without physical inspection and are not intended for reliance by insurers, auditors, courts or any other third party.

Where a pre-grade estimate is provided, TCG Valuations discloses that TCG Grading is a related entity within Carter Jones Group. Pre-grade estimates are indicative only and do not guarantee a grading outcome.

Where a report is prepared for use in proceedings, the valuer’s paramount duty is to the court and not to the party engaging or paying for the report.

All items are held under insured custody while in our possession. Items must be delivered by trackable and insured means at the client’s cost unless otherwise arranged.
